The Candil Jacaranda School is an independent, non-sectarian, and co-educational preparatory day school founded in 1979. We offer an accelerated academic program which incorporates a Montessori blended pathway for students of average and above average abilities in preschool through grade five. Our unique approach to education allows students to benefit from a hands-on curriculum designed to involve the student in active learning.

The Candil Jacaranda School is fully accredited by SACS/CASI, AMS, and AISF and is a Florida Gold Seal School Recipient. It is nationally recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation, and is a member of the Broward County Non-Public School Association. We are proud of the international composition of our student body. Candil Jacaranda School welcomes students of all races and ethnic origin who place a priority on learning. We have an "Open Admissions Policy" of non-discrimination on the basis of race, creed or ethnic origin.

This South Florida private school provides a secure and stable environment in an excellent academic setting conducive to excellence in education that develops the students' abilities and a joy for the learning process. Students at Candil Jacaranda develop the habit of success through the glow of achievement. Innate critical thinking skills are developed by teaching students to define problems and develop solutions. Rote and memory are not boundaries of learning, but useful tools in the process of experimentation and discovery. Students wear attractive, neat, uniforms that build pride in their school community.

Learning matters at Candil Jacaranda School. We maintain high standards and expectations for students in a stimulating and comprehensive program of intellectual and personal development. We are dedicated to academic excellence with emphasis on individual development. We are concerned with the expansion and growth of each child's intellect, emotional stability and social adjustment. Because each child develops half of his intellectual capacity by the age of four and 80% by the age of eight, we feel an enthusiastic approach to learning in the early years proves crucial in later life. Over 20 years of high achievement test scores show that our kindergarten through grade 5 students have again topped their peers both nationwide and locally.

Our team includes Montessori and state certified teachers, instructional assistants and specialists in library, technology, art, music, Spanish and physical education. A resource teacher supports the individual needs of students. Come visit our school, meet our faculty and tour our facility. We are happy to welcome you.
